Do you believe in fairies?

As we already know that the Pirates cheated on the boys and the redskins by beating tom-tom.They were caught by the pirates and were tied hard so that they couldnot fly away.Even Wendy was caught and tied.Hook found out the way to go to Peter.He went underground and found Peter sleeping.He got angry seing him in that peaceful state.He mixed few drops of poison in peter’s medicine whch was by his bedside.Meanwhile,tinker Bell came in the room,woke peter and informed him that wendy was caught by the pirates.He dint wait for a second to rescue her.

Tinker bell didnot let peter have the poisoned medicine and she had it herself.Before she could die,she told peter that if the children believed in fairies she would not die and she would come back.

Everyone on the Neverland,the children,the redskins,peter,wendy,believed in fairies and Tinker Bell came back to life again.At teh beginning when tink hurted wendy,I thought she was a negative character,but now after she saved peter’s life,I think she really loves Peter.

In continuation of the previous chapter,this chapter is about the Pirate’s ship.The ship was very much in mess and was very dirty.Hook wanted the boys to be the Pirates.Wendy had told them not to irritate Hook.Tootles goes to hook to negotiate.The boys refuse to become the pirates as they said”my mother would not like it”.Hook took wendy on the deck,she was very scared.She told the boys to die like an English Man.Smee wishpered in Wendy’s ears  “I’ll save you if you promise to be my mother.” However, Wendy answered , “I would almost rather have no children at all.”

Fortunately,again the Crocodile comes into the picture and scares Hook away.

Chapter 12 THE CHILDREN ARE CARRIED OFF

The pirate attack had been a complete surprise: a sure proof that the unscrupulous Hook had conducted it improperly, for to surprise redskins fairly is beyond the wit of the white man. In this fight,many of the brave redskins were killed.

Hook’s main intention for the fight was to get holdof Peter,he was not at all interested in Red skins.He wanted to take revenge from Peter as he set free Lily from him  and also that he flung his hand to the Crocodile.Hook oevrheard teh conversation of the boys and he got to know that if Redskings win the fight they would beat tom- tom.So hook and the other pirates went a head and beat tom-tom to misguide the boys.

This chapter is not so interesting,as hook cheated the boys and the redskins.

Chapter 11 Wendy’s Story

Wendy tells everyone about her family, Mr & Mrs.Darling,Nana.she told them that her mother would be waiting for them with the windows open.The boys and the sibblings were enjoying her story.But peter didnot like her story as the story was about Mother’s Love. Because when Peter got back home,his mother had forgotten him and had another child in her lap.

Wendy decided to get back with John and Michael to their house.The boys dint wanted her to leave them and so they planned to prison wendy but peter pan told them that they cannot make a girl stop here against her wish.Peter dint wanted Wendy to leave but he showed as if he was not bothered about her decision to leave.Peter made arrangements for them to leave and gave this responsibility to Tink an dthe sibblings.Tink was very excited to know that Wendy was leaving.

 All of  a sudden,the Pirates made another attack on the Redskins.I am waiting to know what will happen next.

The Happy Home

We know that there took a fight between the pirates and Peter.Tiger Lily was saved by Peter.Redskins were never friendly with Peter and the boys but now after they saved Lily,they ike Peter and called him “The Great White Father”.However,they still had a bad behaviour towards the sibblings,boys and wendy.

Everyone who had complains or problems would come to Wendy.After the evening Tea(make believe),every one was complaining to wendy and then Peter entered.Every one was so happy to see Peter that they started to dance.Peter was a very good dancer and he also asked Wendy to dance but she dint wanted to because she was being Mother to the boys.

Wendy loved Peter,but she was too shy to tell him.she wanted Peter to tell her but he couldnot understand.Tinker Bell and Tiger Lily also loved Peter. Everyone started telling their own stories and to wendy’s suprise he didnot like her story.I am suprised too that y dint he liked wendy’s story.

The Never Bird

From the last chapter,we know that a fight took place between the pirates and Peter.Wendy was saved by Michael’s Kite as it could take only one person.But Peter was still in trouble.Then came a Never bird who tried to save peter from falling in the water.She had eggs in the nest but still she didnot bothered about the eggs and was trying to save Peter.After a liitle whole of flying,the never bird got tired  and asked peter to swim.At first,peter couldnot understand what she was telling him but later he understood.She sacrificed her eggs for peter but fortunately Peter took the eggs in his hands and that way the never bird helped Peter to reach home and could save her eggs also.

THE MERMAIDS’ LAGOON

This chapter tells us about the mermaids on the lagoon and the way they treated  Wendy and the boys.This laggon has a lot of Mermaids and the boys would go there to play in the summers.They would float on the water,do fishing and swimming.The MErmaids were not very friendly with the boys and also with wendy.but they were very close to Peter.

One day after a heavy meal,Wendy wanted the boys to rest for a while. When every one was a sleep,wendy could feel some thing suspicious and thought there is some danger coming towards them.One of the boys could feel the same thing in sleep and he woke up others too.The danger was the Pirates.They were coming towards them in a boat with Tiger Lily(chief’s daughter).Captain hook ordered to kill Tiger Lily and so Peter decided to save Tiger Lily.He changed his voice as Hook and ordered to set free Lily.But by then Hook was again there.Peter and hook had a fight.Peter won the fight as fortunately hook was scared away by the Crocodile.Wendy was tensed to see all these things as she had never seen this before.Peter saved lily but he was injured,he was not able to fly.Wendy was saved by Michael’s Kite.

This chapter was full of adventures.

Chapter 7

 

In Neverland,everyone had a hollow tree according to their sizes.They had to fit in the hollow tree and maintain their sizes.Peter Pan  took the size of Wendy,Michael and John for the hollow tree and it fitted them perfect.They had to maintain their size in order ti get in to it.Michael was put in a basket as a baby and was accompanied by Wendy. John, Michael and wendy  liked their new underground home.Tinker bell,lived in a large-cage with one recess in the wall, which was a kind of a private apartment.

 

Wendy was not worried about her parents, as she was confident that her parents would always leave the windows open for them to fly back. The thing that bothered wendy was about John and Michael. John vaguely remembered his parents and Michael thought wendy to be his mother. These things scared her a little, and nobly anxious to do her duty, she tried to fix the old life in their minds by setting them examination papers on it, as like as possible to the ones she used to do at school. The other boys thought this awfully interesting, and insisted on joining, and they made slates for themselves, and sat round the table, writing and thinking hard about the questions she had written on another slate and passed round.She would ask John and Michael questions on their Parents. 

Wendy was happy being a mother in Neverland.She would  cook,sew and make new things.She loved to do sewing and darting after everyone would sleep.She would never be seen above the ground,she would always be cooking underground.We don’t know if she would cook the real meal or its just a author’s fantasy. 

I personally feel this book is really interesting.The best thing I like about this book is the way author has written it, words used,the way every sequence is explained has really impressed me.

In Chapter 6,we will see how wendy changes the boys in the Neverland and becomes mother to them.

After tootles shot an arrow at Wendy,he thought that Peter Pan would be happy to know that he has killed Wendy but he realised that it was Tinker Bell’s plan to kill Wend.Also,e realised that wendy was not a bird and that peter pan got a mother to take care of them.Tootles gets scared now as he couldnot hear wendy’s heartbeat.The other boys and tootle stood around wendy and were sad about killing their Mother.

Suddenly,they hear the peter pan crow coming.He is happy to inform the boys that he had got a mother for them(wendy).Peter pn was suprised at the boys expressions.Finally,they told him that wendy was dead.Peter Pan got very angry and wanted to kill Tootle.But he could hear wendy and see her moving.Wendy wanted peter pan to forgive tootles.The boys decided to tell peter pan about tinker bell’s evil thoughts.

Peter Pan was never so angry.He decided not to be Tinker bell’s friend.But Wendy asked him to forgive her also.Peter and the boys wanted to built a house for wendy as she could not move because of her injury.The boys asked her to sing and let them know the type of house she wanted for her self.Wendy sang the song for them.they made a house with redwalls,mossy greed roof,gay windows,roses peeing inside the windows and a chimney.

The boys wanted wendy to be their mother.She was more than happy to be their mother and takecare of them.

Chapter 3 has interesting talks between Peter Pan and Wendy. 

Peter Pan, in the excitement of findind his shadow back,forgot Tinker Bell(a fairy from his world who had accompanied  peter to find his shadow)in th drawer.Tinker Bell was a girl exquisitely gowned in a skeleton leaf, cut low and square, through which her figure could be seen to the best advantage.If he thought at all, but I don’t believe he ever thought, it was that he and his shadow, when brought near each other, would join like drops of water, and when they did not he was appalled. He tried to stick it on with soap from the bathroom, but that also failed. A shudder passed through Peter, and he sat on the floor and cried. His sobs woke Wendy, and she sat up in bed. She was not alarmed to see a stranger crying on the nursery floor; she was only pleasantly interested.

Wendy helped him find the shadow.After Peter found the shadow,they became good frinds.Both told each other about their lives.Peter told wendy about the fairies in his world and Wendy told him about the stories  which her mom would tell.From the time Peter had left home,he never heard such stories.He was very much happy to hear to them again and he wanted wendy to go with him to Neverland and tell the stories to the boys living with him.Wendy and her brothers flew with Peter Pan to Neverland.

 On the other hand Tinker bell is jealous of Wendy,She doesn’t like Peter getiting close to Wendy,specially when Wendy kissed Peter.

Peter Pan,wendy and her brothers were flying over the sea before this thought began to disturb Wendy seriously. John thought it was their second sea and their third night. Sometimes it was dark and sometimes light, and now they were very cold and again too warm. Did they really feel hungry at times, or were they merely pretending, because Peter had such a jolly new way of feeding them? His way was to pursue birds who had food in their mouths suitable for humans and snatch it from them; then the birds would follow and snatch it back; and they would all go chasing each other gaily for miles, parting at last with mutual expressions of good-will. But Wendy noticed with gentle concern that Peter did not seem to know that this was rather an odd way of getting your bread and butter, nor even that there are other ways. After a while,they were sleepy; and that was a danger, for the moment they popped off, down they fell. The awful thing was that Peter thought this funny.

 There he goes again!” he would cry gleefully, as Michael suddenly dropped like a stone.

Wendy got worried and shouted for help.Eventually Peter would dive through the air, and catch Michael just before he could strike the sea, and it was lovely the way he did it; but he always waited till the last moment, and you felt it was his cleverness that interested him and not the saving of human life. Also he was fond of variety, and the sport that engrossed him one moment would suddenly cease to engage him, so there was always the possibility that the next time you fell he would let you go. He could sleep in the air without falling, by merely lying on his back and floating, but this was, partly at least, because he was so light that if you got behind him and blew he went faster.

On reaching Neverland,they could not land because of Tinker Bell,who woke up from Peter’s shoulder,Captai hook(Pirate).Neverland was very much different from the stories.

Tinker bell hated  Wendy because she got close to Peter and also she hated the boys as they flew with Peter.Tink was not all bad; or, rather, she was all bad just now, but, on the other hand, sometimes she was all good. Fairies have to be one thing or the other, because being so small they unfortunately have room for one feeling only at a time. They are, however, allowed to change, only it must be a complete change. At present she was full of jealousy of Wendy. What she said in her lovely tinkle Wendy could not of course understand, and I believe some of it was bad words, but it sounded kind, and she flew back and forward, plainly meaning “Follow me, and all will be well.”
What else could poor Wendy do? She called to Peter and John and Michael, and got only mocking echoes in reply. She did not yet know that Tink hated her with the fierce hatred of a very woman. And so, bewildered, and now staggering in her flight, she followed Tink to her doom.

Chapter 5 describes about the Isalnd.Peter Pan is not on the Island,everything on the Isalnd comes to life,The lost boys,the ugly looking Pirates,the Red skins who always carry a knife with them and their bodies gleam with oil and paint and the beasts with the crocodiles.Peter Pan had cut off the hand of Captain hook( Pirate) and it was eaten away by a Crocodile.So now  Crocodile is the only thing Hook is scared of,as he thinks that t he crocodile wants to eat his rest of the body.

The Pirates(hook and smee) find that Peter is not at home and so they plan to hurt the boys.Fortunately,Hook is scared away by the Crocodile. But, the boys are chased by the wolves.He they scared but did what Peter Pan had done earlier when wolves had chased him.They looked at the wolves in between the two legs which eventually scared the wolves and thus they were safe.

On the other hand,Tinker bell who is Jealous of Wendy plans to hurt her.She  asks the boys to shoot Wendy and says that it was Peter’s command.The boys listened to her and shot an arrow at Wendy’s Breast.

The story is becoming interesting as the chapters go by.I just can’t wait to know what will be next.

Peter Pan

 Me and my group are reading the book ” Peter Pan ” by James.M.Barrie.

Let me tell you all some thing about the author.James.M.Barrie was born in 1860 in the lowland village of Kirriemuir,in Forfashire.His father,David Barri was a handloom weaver and mother Margaret Ogivily,the daughter of a stone man.They had ten children and Jamie was the ninth,as he was called,heard tales of pirates from his mother.At the age of 13,barrie left his village home and joined a school.At school,he became interested in theatre and devoured works by such authors Jules Verne, Mayne Reid, and James Fenimore Cooper.During World War I Barrie made a western film with his literary friends, starring Shaw, William Archer, G.K. Chesterton, etc. Peter Pan was produced for the stage in 1904 but the play had to wait several years for a definitive printed version and it did not appear as a narrative story until 1911. The book was titled PETER AND WENDY. In the novel’s epilogue Peter visits a grown-up Wendy.

This story is about a couple Mr.& Mrs.Darling,who had three naughty children Wendy,Michael and John.They had a nurse for the three children named Nana.They lives at 14(their house number on the street).Mr. Darling used to boast to his children that her mother not only loved him but respected him.Nana also loved the children very much.There never was a simpler happier family until the coming of Peter Pan.

Mrs. Darling first heard of Peter when she was tidying up her children’s minds. At first Mrs. Darling did not know, but after thinking back into her childhood she just remembered a Peter Pan who was said to live with the fairies. There were odd stories about him, as that when children died he went part of the way with them, so that they should not be frightened. She had believed in him at the time, but now that she was married and full of sense she quite doubted whether there was any such person.

Mrs.Darling and Nana saw Peter Pan and tried to catch him,but he escaped.But they could catch the shadow of Peter Pan.Mrs.Darling decided to hide this from her husband till she got a chance to tell her husband.

when Mrs. Darling was dreaming the window of the nursery blew open and a boy did drop on the floor. He had a strange light in his hand. When she saw the boy, she started crying, and somehow she knew at once he was Peter Pan.Mrs.darling returned to the nursery, and found Nana with something in her mouth, which proved to be the boy’s shadow. As he leapt at the window Nana had closed it quickly, too late to catch him, but his shadow had not had time to get out; slam went the window and snapped it off. She decided to hang the shadow on the window,but unfortunately she could leave the shadow hanging on the window,it looked so like the washing and lowered the whole ton eof th ehouse.She thought of showing it to Mr.Darling but he was busy totting up winter great – coats for the Children.She decided to roll the shadow up and put it away carefully in a drawer, until a fitting opportunity came for telling her husband. Ah me!
The opportunity came a week later, on that never-to-be- forgotten Friday. Of course it was a Friday.

 Did Mrs.Darling tell her husband about the shadow? Dont you want to know?
